What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:31 NKJV
In 1996, I went to China to start a food court business at Xiamen. Unfortunately in one year, my business failed. I lost all my savings to the business. I returned to Singapore with a great debt. During that time my children were still very young and I did not know who to turn to and what to do. Every day I woke up with fear, finding ways to settle my debts.
One morning, my children invited me to River Church. Since I was desperate and helpless, I decided to go together with them to take a look at what church was about, and to see whether I could seek God for help.
That was the first time I went to church. I felt touched during the Praise & Worship and was crying non-stop. The Pastor invited me to receive Jesus into my life. I immediately accepted Jesus without any hesitation. I began to open my heart and shared my financial problems with the Pastors.
Recalling those days, I realise that I have been trapped in anxieties and worry over my debts. The ensnarement of fear brings hopelessness but I put my trust and confidence in God’s love that sets me free.
Fear and intimidation are a trap that holds me back. But when I place my confidence in the Lord, I know that He is in Control. That is how I have overcome my past failure. Receiving Jesus into my life is the best decision I have ever made. I thank God for who I am now. I thank God I have an Almighty God.

Be anxious for nothing, and rely on God’s solution.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, no longer will I let anxieties ensnare me. I place my confidence in You. You are the Almighty God who is in control. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
