“You are the salt of the earth.”
Matthew 5:13
“You are the salt of the earth.” This is a statement Jesus made in Matthew 5:13. It is a description Jesus gave of His disciples. It is also an instruction that He gave to each of us.
This is the subject matter we spoke about in our LifeTribes last Friday. It was a truly enjoyable time where each of us shared insights and learnt life application based on the Word of God.
Someone commented, “A pack of salt lasts really long, because each time we only need to use a little in our cooking.
”Another responded, “Yes, just a little salt can bringa difference. A glass of plain water no longer tastes the same after even just a grain of salt is added.
“How true is this, isn’t it?
I think of 2 Kings 2:19-22. God instructed Elisha to throw a bowl of salt into the water source whose water was bad, causing the land to be barren. With that, the Lord purified and healed the water!
You are the salt of the earth. You must throw yourself into the lives of the people who need God’s healing and salvation. You must sprinkle the Good News into their ears, stir their heart with the love of Christ, and shake up their lives with the truth of God’s Word.
Even a glass of plain water would no longer taste the same if a grain of salt is added to it, remember?
You are the SALT of the earth
Sprinkle A Little Today
This goes a long way
For God to open the way
For a life to be saved today
Shake A Little Today
Stir A Little Today
Save A Life Today
You are the SALT of the earth
